This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use Binger (the "Service" or "Application") and explains your privacy rights and how applicable laws protect you.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

Words with the initial letter capitalized have meanings defined below. These definitions apply whether the terms appear in singular or plural.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Account means a unique account created for you to access parts of the Service.
  • Application means Binger, the iOS application provided by the Company.
  • Company ("we", "us", "our") refers to OR Tech LLC (DBA Binger), 1600 SW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33129, United States.
  • Device means any device that can access the Service, such as an iPhone or iPad.
  • Personal Data means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to the Application.
  • Service Provider means any third party that processes data on behalf of the Company.
  • Usage Data means data collected automatically when using the Service.
  • Connected Services means third-party streaming services you choose to connect to the Service.
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

1. Account and Profile Data

When you create an account or use the Service, we may collect:

  • Email address or authentication identifier
  • Basic profile information
  • Onboarding preferences (e.g. genres, favorite movies or shows, preferred streaming services)

2. User Activity Data

To provide personalized recommendations, we collect and store data related to your interactions with the Service, including:

  • Swipes or reactions (e.g. interested / not interested)
  • Ratings (e.g. love / like / meh / dislike)
  • Watchlist activity (adding or removing titles)
  • Recommendation feed interactions
  • Watch history and watch events

3. Connected Services Data (via Younify)

If you choose to connect streaming services, we use Younify to access viewing activity made available by those services. This may include:

  • Connected streaming providers
  • Viewing history and watch activity
  • Technical identifiers required to maintain the connection

Connecting streaming services is optional and can be revoked at any time.

4. Third-Party Content Metadata

We use third-party data providers such as TMDB to obtain movie and TV show metadata, including titles, descriptions, images, cast information, and availability data. This data relates to content, not to your private communications.

5. AI Processing Data

We use artificial intelligence services, including the OpenAI API, to:

  • Generate personalized recommendations
  • Improve search relevance
  • Analyze preference signals derived from your interactions

This processing may include your ratings, reactions, search queries, and derived preference data. We do not process personal communications unrelated to the Service.

6. Usage and Diagnostic Data

Usage Data may include:

  • Device identifiers
  • IP address (used for security and approximate region detection)
  • App performance data, logs, and crash reports
  • Timestamps and interaction metrics

Use of Your Personal Data

We may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • To personalize recommendations and user experience
  • To import and analyze watch activity from Connected Services
  • To manage your Account and preferences
  • To monitor usage, prevent abuse, and improve performance
  • To communicate important service-related information
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use Personal Data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Anonymized and Aggregated Data

We may create and use anonymized and/or aggregated data derived from information collected through the Service, including usage patterns, viewing trends, and interaction statistics.

Such data:

  • Does not identify you and cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual
  • Has personal identifiers removed or irreversibly obscured
  • Is not considered Personal Data under applicable data protection laws

We may use, analyze, commercialize, license, or otherwise disclose anonymized or aggregated data for lawful business purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Product improvement
  • Research and development
  • Industry analysis and reporting
  • Business intelligence and analytics
  • Commercial partnerships

We do not sell or commercialize Personal Data that directly identifies you.

Sharing Your Personal Data

We may share your data with Service Providers strictly as necessary to operate the Service, including:

  • Supabase (backend infrastructure, database, authentication)
  • OpenAI (AI-based recommendation and search processing)
  • Younify (streaming service connection and watch activity import)
  • TMDB and availability data providers (content metadata)

We may also disclose information:

  • To comply with legal obligations or lawful requests
  • To protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the Company
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale

We do not sell Personal Data.

Third-Party Terms and Privacy Policies

Younify

Binger uses Younify to enable streaming service connections and viewing activity imports.

Your use of this functionality is also governed by Younify's own policies:

Younify's processing of data is subject to its own policies. Binger only accesses data made available through Younify for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:

  • While your Account is active
  • To provide recommendations and prevent duplicate content
  • To comply with legal, security, and operational requirements

You may request deletion of your data at any time.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your Personal Data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data or account
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Request data portability
  • Withdraw consent (e.g. disconnect Connected Services)

You may also request deletion of your account by emailing contact@binger.ai. Upon verification, we will initiate deletion of your account and associated Personal Data, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect your Personal Data.

Security of Your Personal Data

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Data, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the Service and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
